This event is for the WBB game between Virginia Cavaliers and Iowa Hawkeyes on March 23 at 2:00 PM ET.
If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed.
If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.
Kalshi resolves YES for either outcome (Iowa wins OR Virginia wins), making it a binary confirmation market, while Polymarket resolves to a specific winner (Virginia Cavaliers or Iowa Hawkeyes), making it a winner-determination market. The platforms use fundamentally different resolution scopes.
Hero Tip:
If you bet YES on Kalshi, you win regardless of which team wins the game—Kalshi is essentially betting that the game happens. On Polymarket, you must pick the correct winner. Do not confuse these: Kalshi is a game-occurrence market; Polymarket is a winner-pick market.
Critical Divergence Points:
Kalshi: Outlier: Resolves YES if either Iowa wins OR Virginia wins the game. This is a binary confirmation market with no winner differentiation. Key quote: 'If Iowa wins the Virginia at Iowa women's college basketball game originally scheduled for Mar 23, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes. If Virginia wins the Virginia at Iowa women's college basketball game originally scheduled for Mar 23, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.'
Polymarket: Outlier: Resolves to a specific winner—either 'Virginia Cavaliers' or 'Iowa Hawkeyes'—based on which team wins. This is a winner-determination market. Key quote: 'If the Virginia Cavaliers win, the market will resolve to Virginia Cavaliers. If the Iowa Hawkeyes win, the market will resolve to Iowa Hawkeyes.'
