Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
All platforms resolve based on the official match outcome (90 minutes plus stoppage time) as of April 18, 2026, with identical handling of postponements and cancellations across Polymarket and Kalshi.
Primary resolution logic:
Official EFL Championship statistics and governing body records, with fallback to credible reporting consensus if official statistics are not published within 2 hours of match conclusion.
Core resolution logic:
Market resolves based on the outcome of the Sheffield Wednesday vs Charlton Athletic match after 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties.
Sheffield Wednesday win market resolves YES if Sheffield Wednesday wins, NO otherwise.
Charlton Athletic win market resolves YES if Charlton Athletic wins, NO otherwise.
Draw market resolves YES if the match ends in a draw, NO otherwise.
Exactly one of the three outcome markets will resolve YES; the other two resolve NO.
If the match is postponed, all markets remain open until the match is completed.
If the match is canceled entirely with no make-up game, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton win markets resolve NO, and the draw market resolves YES.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Match Postponement: If the match is postponed, all markets remain open and unresolved until the rescheduled match is completed. Resolution occurs based on the outcome of the completed match, regardless of delay.
Match Cancellation Without Makeup: If the match is canceled entirely with no make-up game scheduled, the Sheffield Wednesday win and Charlton Athletic win markets resolve NO, while the draw market resolves YES.
Resolution Source Timing: Primary resolution uses official EFL Championship statistics. If official statistics are not published within 2 hours of match conclusion, credible reporting consensus may be used as the fallback source.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official publication of the final match result by the EFL or governing body, or within 2 hours after match conclusion via credible reporting consensus if official statistics are delayed.
