Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Both Polymarket and Kalshi use identical resolution logic: the market resolves based on the official match outcome (win, loss, or draw) after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, with consistent handling of postponements and cancellations.
Primary resolution logic:
Official MLS statistics as recognized by the governing body or event organizers (mlssoccer.com); if unavailable within 2 hours of match conclusion, credible reporting consensus may be used.
Core resolution logic:
Polymarket St. Louis City SC win market resolves YES if and only if St. Louis City SC wins the match within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; otherwise NO.
Polymarket Seattle Sounders FC win market resolves YES if and only if Seattle Sounders FC wins the match within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; otherwise NO.
Polymarket draw market resolves YES if the match ends in a draw within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; otherwise NO.
Kalshi markets resolve YES for the outcome that occurs: Seattle win, Saint Louis win, or Tie.
Exactly one outcome (Seattle win, St. Louis win, or draw) will occur and resolve YES across the market group.
Extra time and penalties are excluded from resolution scope.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Match Postponement: If the game is postponed, all markets remain open until the match is completed and the final result is determined.
Match Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, Polymarket win markets (Seattle and St. Louis) resolve NO, and the draw market resolves YES. Kalshi markets would resolve based on the cancellation outcome as specified by Kalshi rules.
Resolution Timing: Resolution is contingent on official MLS statistics being published within 2 hours after match conclusion; if unavailable, credible reporting consensus is used as the fallback source.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official publication of the final match result by MLS or governing body within 2 hours of match conclusion, or upon consensus of credible reporting if official statistics are delayed.
