Description
This event group covers a best-of-three Counter-Strike match between Team Spirit and Liquid at IEM Rio 2026 Group A, originally scheduled for April 13, 2026 at 10:00–11:30 AM ET. Markets span match outcome, individual map winners, map-level statistics (rounds and kills), and series length. All resolution hinges on official HLTV.org data or credible consensus reporting within 2 hours of match conclusion.
Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Kalshi and Polymarket both resolve based on the official match result from HLTV.org, with identical handling of cancellations, delays beyond 7 days, forfeits, and incomplete matches. Both treat maps won by forfeit/disqualification/walkover as countable toward the series outcome, and both use the same 2-hour fallback to credible reporting if HLTV.org does not publish results in time.
Primary resolution logic:
Official information from https://hltv.org, with fallback to consensus of credible reporting (including video evidence) if HLTV.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event's conclusion.
Core resolution logic:
The match is a best-of-3 (BO3) series between Spirit and Liquid scheduled for April 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET (Polymarket) / 11:30 AM EDT (Kalshi).
If the match is played and completed with a winner determined, all markets resolve based on the actual match outcome (maps played, map winners, round totals, kill totals).
If the match is canceled entirely or delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without play beginning, all markets resolve 50-50.
If the match begins but is not completed: (a) if a map is concluded with a winner, map-specific markets resolve based on that completed map; (b) if a team wins due to opponent forfeiture/disqualification/walkover before series completion, the series outcome market resolves 50-50, but the series total maps market also resolves 50-50; (c) if the clinching map is forfeited, the match counts as completed and series outcome resolves to the winning team.
Maps won by forfeit, disqualification, walkover, or default count toward map totals and handicap calculations, provided the match is completed.
If the match ends in a tie or the series result cannot be determined, all markets resolve 50-50.
For map-specific markets (Map 1/2/3 winner, odd/even rounds, odd/even kills): if the map is not played due to series clinch, forfeit, or cancellation, that market resolves 50-50.
For the Games Total O/U 2.5 market (Kalshi) and Map Handicap market (Polymarket): both resolve based on the total number of maps played in the completed series.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Clinching Map Forfeiture: If the match ends because the clinching map (e.g., Map 3 in a 1-1 series) is forfeited by one team, the match counts as completed and resolves to the non-forfeiting team. Series total maps and handicap markets resolve based on the number of maps played before the forfeit.
Incomplete Series with Partial Forfeiture: If the match begins, one team wins 1-0 on maps, and then the opponent forfeits the remaining maps before series completion, the series outcome market resolves 50-50, but the Games Total / Map Handicap markets also resolve 50-50 because the match was not completed with a winner determined.
Map Remakes: If any map is remade, resolution is based on the remade game only. The original map result is disregarded.
No Kills or Zero Rounds Recorded: If a map is played but no kills are recorded, the odd/even kills market for that map resolves 50-50. If a map is played but zero rounds are recorded (logically impossible in CS2 but covered by rules), the odd/even rounds market resolves 50-50.
7-Day Delay Without Play Beginning: If the match is delayed beyond 7 days from April 13, 2026 and play has not begun by that deadline, all markets resolve 50-50 regardless of whether the match eventually occurs.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official publication of the match result on HLTV.org. If HLTV.org does not publish within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, resolution may be based on consensus of credible reporting and video evidence. The 7-day delay threshold is measured from the originally scheduled date of April 13, 2026.
