Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Both Polymarket and Kalshi use identical resolution logic: the market resolves based on the official match outcome (Bristol City win, Norwich City win, or draw) after 90 minutes plus stoppage time on April 18, 2026, with consistent handling of postponements and cancellations.
Primary resolution logic:
Official statistics from the EFL (English Football League) as the governing body for the Championship, with fallback to credible reporting consensus if official statistics are not published within 2 hours of match conclusion.
Core resolution logic:
Bristol City win market resolves YES if and only if Bristol City FC wins the match within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves NO otherwise or if the match is canceled with no make-up game.
Norwich City win market resolves YES if and only if Norwich City FC wins the match within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves NO otherwise or if the match is canceled with no make-up game.
Draw market resolves YES if and only if the match ends in a draw within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves YES if the match is canceled entirely with no make-up game.
Exactly one of the three markets will resolve YES (the outcome that occurred), except in the cancellation scenario where only the draw market resolves YES.
All markets remain open if the match is postponed and will resolve upon completion of the rescheduled match.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Match Cancellation: If the match is canceled entirely with no make-up game scheduled, the Bristol City win and Norwich City win markets resolve NO, while the draw market resolves YES.
Match Postponement: If the match is postponed, all markets remain open until the rescheduled match is completed; resolution is then based on the outcome of the rescheduled match.
Scope: Regular Time Only: Resolution is based solely on the outcome after 90 minutes plus stoppage time and does not include extra time or penalty shootouts.
Source Hierarchy: Primary source is official EFL statistics; if not published within 2 hours of match conclusion, credible reporting consensus is used as fallback.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official announcement of the final match result by the EFL, or within 2 hours after match conclusion via credible reporting consensus if official statistics are delayed.
