Polymarket

This market refers to the LoL Lower bracket final match between Cloud9 and LYON in the LCS Playoffs, initially scheduled for October 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM ET. This market will resolve to "Cloud9" if Cloud9 win the match against LYON. This market will resolve to "LYON" if LYON win the match against Cloud9. If the match is canceled (not played at all) or ends in a tie, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match is postponed, it must be rescheduled to a start time on or before October 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET (14 calendar days after the originally scheduled start of October 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM ET). If, by that deadline, the most recently announced rescheduled start time is on or before the deadline, this market resolves based on the result of the match as played. Otherwise, this market resolves 50-50, regardless of whether the match is subsequently played. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://gol.gg/esports/home. However, if https://gol.gg/esports/home has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

The dashboard provides a real-time view of how the prediction market is valuing each team's chances of winning.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of how each type of market operates. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information, potentially leading to odds that diverge from, or converge with, those offered by sportsbooks as the event approaches.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe Cloud9 will win, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb, and vice versa for LYON. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading on the platform.

This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the Cloud9 versus LYON best-of-five series in the LoL LCS Playoffs is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official outcome of the series as reported by the League of Legends Championship Series organizers. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final result, which will be publicly available and independently verifiable following the conclusion of the competition.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Unexpected news regarding player form, team strategies, or even potential roster changes could all shift the perceived probabilities. In-game performance during the series itself – such as a dominant early game by one team – will likely cause significant price movements. Analyst predictions and public sentiment, particularly on social media, can also play a role in influencing trader behavior and, consequently, the odds within this market. Any significant development related to either team could trigger substantial shifts.
