The 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket competition is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 31, 2026.
This market will resolve according to the team that wins the 2026 Indian Premier League.
If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to win the 2026 Indian Premier League based on the rules of the competition (e.g., they do not advance to the playoffs), the corresponding market will resolve immediately to “No”.
If the 2026 Indian Premier League season is permanently canceled or there is otherwise no winner declared by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The primary resolution source will be the IPL (https://www.iplt20.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Both Polymarket and Predict use identical resolution criteria, primary source, edge-case handling, and deadline (December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC).
Primary resolution logic:
Official IPL website (https://www.iplt20.com/); consensus of credible reporting as secondary verification
Core resolution logic:
Market resolves YES for the team that wins the 2026 IPL championship (final match winner)
Market resolves NO for any team that becomes mathematically eliminated from playoff qualification during the tournament
Market resolves NO immediately upon elimination, not at end of season
The 'other team' option resolves YES only if a team not listed among the 10 franchises wins (highly unlikely given IPL structure)
Market resolves OTHER if the 2026 IPL season is permanently canceled or no winner is declared by the deadline
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Early Elimination: If a team is eliminated from playoff contention before the tournament ends, its YES market resolves NO immediately rather than waiting for final resolution
Season Cancellation: If the 2026 IPL is canceled, postponed indefinitely, or no champion is crowned by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC, all markets resolve to OTHER
Other Team Option: The 'other team' market is a catch-all for any non-listed franchise winning; given IPL has 10 franchises and all are listed, this should only resolve YES in extraordinary circumstances (e.g., franchise restructuring)
Tie or Replay: If the final match ends in a tie and requires a replay or super-over, resolution follows the ultimate winner as determined by IPL rules and official declaration
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official declaration of the 2026 IPL champion by the IPL governing body, expected by May 31, 2026; absolute deadline for resolution is December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC
